- Meat pie (Tourtière du Québec)
- This recipe is originated in Quebec, mostly south. Tourtière is a traditional French Canadian Christmas and New Years dish. This recipe is very big and makes about 5 pies so maybe you can just cut it in half.

- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 10 green onions, diced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 10 pounds ground beef
- 3 pounds ground pork
- 2 cup small cubed potatoes
- 1 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon cloves
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 5 tablespoons fresh thyme
- Preheat oven to 375˚F.
- Heat a pot set to medium high. Add the oil, green onion and garlic, sauté for 1 min.
- Add ground beef and pork and cook until no longer pink, breaking up the meat into small pieces.
- Add cubed potatoes and spices.
- Cook for about 40 min.
- Cool off
- Place filling in the bottom crust (pie dough recipe) in a 9-inch pie plate. Fill the crust with meat and add the top with remaining pie crust.
- Seal the two crusts together, rolling to one over the other if needed, and press gently with a fork or fingers. Brush the top crust with milk wash.
- Bake for 45 minutes or until the pie crust is golden brown in color.
